With the 10th and final commandment we come to one which summarizes them all, reflection.
It’s important to take a moment and look back at your day, your week, month and even year so far. Take a moment to notice the changes that have occurred, the obstacle you have hurdled, the moments you’ve shared, the downs that you’ve had and the up which have come from overcoming those down moments.
Sometimes it’s very easy just to see what you haven’t done, you must remember to see what you have done; happiness is all about perspective, you need to choose to appreciate what you have achieved.
People often say “I’m too ambitious to see what I have done a success” and to that I say RUBBISH!
If you always look at life from what you haven’t accomplished then you will live life with the belief that you have never accomplished anything. Take pride in where you are now and what you have done and the fact that no one has done it quite like you have.
Reflect on the best moments, the sunrises, the good coffee you had two days ago, the stranger you had a random conversation with, the way you felt when you heard that throwback song, the way the sunset made you feel, the decision you made that turned out to be the right one, reflect and smile on the good.
“I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them.”
The secret is knowing that every day will at some point be part of the good old days, so reflect on the good old days now, so you never look back and say I miss the good old day, because you’ll always know you’re in it.
