This one in particular is really dear to me when it comes to commandments for adventure, it is also a bit of a dilemma (only a bit)
I do really enjoy a lay-in, the longer I can remain in bed the better sometimes, however very little else beats watching the sunrise on a roof with a cup of coffee for me.
Aside from the fact that it’s a beautiful way to start your day, you get to wake up a bit early, watch the sky light up with colours (if you’re lucky) or that beautiful orange colour a sunrise tends to bring with it. It’s also a really nice framework to have to your day, along with the sunset (spoiler on the next commandment!)
I frame my day around it, it feels like being up to watch the world wake up and I mean that literally, actually seeing the earth wake up and also get its day started.
Take this time to be “thankful” that you’ve survived the previous days’ adventure and now you get to set off on another.
Finally, it doesn’t only have to do with the beauty of watching a sunrise, also what waking up that early offers you.
You’re awake early enough to make a good cup of coffee/tea, have a nice breakfast to start your day and if nothing else you provide yourself with a part of the day to just breathe, feel content and ambitions at the same time; and tell your friends how great the sunrise was this morning.
