Personally I find it difficult to get my brain into gear without it, everyone has a different vice for fuelling up to start an adventure (every day is an adventure), for me, it is the liquid of angels (as I like to call coffee)
After rising like a zombie, I head straight for the kettle; and so begins my anticipation.
The idea is to get myself into a complete state of calm, I get my vice, sit and sip; ideally somewhere I can get a view – on the roof (which I have almost fallen off a couple of times) or by a window (safe, but the roof is more fun!) Staring into open space and taking in my complete surroundings using that moment to look forward to the adventure ahead.
Thou shall not only fuel up your body but also your mind, preparing to take the adventure on, no matter what the adventure will be, I make sure I’ll be ready for it. I use this as a way to start my day, by living in the moment and carrying that on through the day.
The mind has an ability to carry on yesterday’s “problems” to today, I don’t allow mine to do that, as my coffee cup starts to look more and more empty, the “problems” of yesterday are left in yesterday.
Today starts a new adventure so I clear my mind, fuel up for it and get it started.
