If you're here in London you'll know it's still pretty mild. But with warnings of the "coldest winter for years" and "35 days of snow" set for the UK it started me thinking of all the awesome things I love to do when it's cold outside.
So in this blog I'm going to lay out my favourite 3 things to do when it's cold, crisp and sunny outside.
First off I love the autumn and winter months. They're amazingly beautiful. And as the Norwegians famously state there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes.
Let's get to it:
Trail Running - Nothing beats trail running when there's a nip in the air and the cold burns your lungs for the first 5 minutes. But once you've gotten past that initial feeling you'll start to notice the emerging colours from the leaves...Told you:
Time to wrap up get outside and do your chores, if you're like me you'll love this part as it always leads to something else... If the run didn't get you going enough, this will. My favourite outdoors chore is to chop wood. After resenting it as a kid growing up, I've come to appreciate this chore and understand this quote from Henry Ford "chop your own wood and it'll keep you warm twice".
-TIME TO CHILL-
Lastly when it starts to get dark around 5pm and you've been for your run, done your chores you know it's time to start an impromptu meet-up with your best friends and get a little fire going. Time to sit back, chill and enjoy the night. You know you deserve it.
There you have it, my favourite 3 things to do when it's cold, crisp and sunny on the weekend.
See you out there.
